Providing Agriculture-Related Nutrition Education

Educating students about agriculture and the nutritional value of local foods may take on a variety of forms including classroom lessons, visits from local farmers, field trips to local farms, and taste-testing of locally-grown products. This type of education can help support and promote the offering of locally-grown foods in the school meals programs. It can also help support the lessons learned through school gardening.
